Who doesn’t have fond memories of fishing with family as a kid? These days we’re seeing fewer and fewer families getting out to fish, but the staff at Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge, MA and Open Sky Community Services have teamed up to give families a reason to get their kids outside and to enjoy a relaxing day of family fishing.
Open Sky Community Services is excited to co-host the 7th Annual Family Fun Fishing Day at Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge, MA along with the Blackstone River National Heritage Corridor Volunteers-in-Parks Program, the Blackstone River Watershed Association, Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation and the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife.
This year’s event will be held on June 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a rain date of June 5. There will be activities for the whole family and food and ice cream will be available for purchase from GottaQ BBQ and the Sweet Wise Ice Cream truck. All ages and ability levels welcome. Fishing poles, bait and instruction will be available with pre-registration and participants are welcome to bring their own.
Registration is now open at www.thebrwa.org/familyfishing2022. This is a FREE event, but pre-registration is required. The festivities will be held at Riverbend Farm, 287 Oak Street, in Uxbridge, MA and is open to all ages and ability levels, although childred 12 and under will need to register with an adult.
