On Saturday August 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC) will host their 25th Annual Youth Surf Fishing Tournament based out of Harvey Cedars Sunset Park on Long Beach Island. Open to ages 5 to 17, free mandatory registration will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. at Sunset Park. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and should bring their own surf fishing rod as loaner outfits are limited.
The event is sponsored by the Borough of Harvey Cedars, the Long Beach Island Fishing Club, PBA #175 and #373, Okies Butcher Shop, Long Beach Township Police Department, Surf City Bait & Tackle, and ASAC for Kids.

A second ASAC event for kids will be held on August 24 with the very first annual ASAC Barnegat Youth tournament to be held at the Barnegat public dock at 427 East Bay Avenue.
