The Atlantic Highlands Recreation Commission and Hi-Mar Striper Club of Middletown partnered up again for a successful Kid’s Fishing Clinic on the evenings of August 10th,11th, and 12th at Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina. The event is run and organized by Atlantic Highlands Recreation Commission Chairman, Chris Parmigiani, and is intended to introduce children to fishing.
Atlantic Highlands Recreation Commission provided the fishing rods. Hi-Mar Striper Club members under the direction of Nicholas Costeira, assisted the young anglers. Nicholas Costeira supplied a variety of bait.
Hi-Mar’s Stephen Machalaba said the eager young participants found slow fishing with only a few fish caught on day one, but fishing greatly improved on Tuesday and Wednesday, adding “All of the kids had fun.”
Hi-Mar Striper Club has been working with the Atlantic Highlands Recreation Commission on this event for several years and looks forward to continuing this in the future to encourage and develop the next generation of saltwater anglers.
