Just a quick reminder to all Connecticut anglers that the fall blackfish (tautog) season will close on November 28. All this means is that all of you tog-obsessed anglers need to make the most of what we have left of the season on Long Island Sound.
November stands out as one of the best months to target a monster tog in Connecticut waters. If you need more incentive, several of our partner tackle shops run season-long blackfish tournaments that pay out big prizes of cash and tackle. Check in with the crews at Fisherman’s World, Fishin’ Factory 3, Total Tackle and J&B Tackle to get into these competitions.
Also, many of our party and charter boats use November to really focus on tog; check in with the Black Hawk, Rock and Roll Charters, The Sunbeam Fleet and the Tartan II to get in on the November action. The fall season operates under a three-fish bag limit and a 16-inch minimum size. Make those 28 days in November count!
