While tautog, porgies and ling are still a thing at the Jersey Shore, these cold, shortened days of January also mean another winter show season is underway.
In addition to the Wildwood Fishing & Boating Expo from January 10-12 and the New York Boat Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan from January 22-26, you’ll also find a host of one-day fishing flea markets in the tristate region from January through March which we’ll continually list all winter long in our Calendar of Events.
The first listing in The Fisherman’s calendar for the month of January is the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers’14th Annual Flea Market on Saturday, January 18. That event is being held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the VE German Club at 130 Davisville Road in Warminster, PA. Admission $5, kids under 16 are free. On Sunday, January 19, the Lacey Township High School fishing club is hosting their 15th annual fishing flea market from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the high school located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor.
The following Sunday, January 26, the 1st Annual American Angler Fishing Flea Market will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Barnegat American Legion at 499 North Main Street in Barnegat. Admission is $3 (12 and under admitted free), or donate food items for the Barnegat Food Pantry and get a free pass. The Fisherman Magazine will once again have a table at the Raritan Bay Anglers Club Annual Fisherman’s Flea Market on Saturday, February 1. Stop by our booth and get a new or renewed subscription, and our gift to you will be set of Danco pliers. The Raritan Bay Anglers Club’s event will run from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at St. John Vianney Parish, 420 Inman Avenue in Colonia. Admission $5, kids 12 and under admitted free. Then on Sunday, February 2, the Saltwater Anglers of Bergen County will once again host their annual Fisherman’s Flea Market, the northernmost tackle show in the Garden State. The event is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hasbrouck Heights Hilton at 650 Terrace Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights. Cost of admission is $5 for adults and kids under 10 years free.
