Fluke Regulation Reminder - The Fisherman

Fluke Regulation Reminder

New York saltwater anglers are reminded that effective since August 2, the minimum size limit for summer flounder (fluke) increased from 19 inches to 19-1/2 inches. The daily bag limit remains three fish per angler, and the season continues through October 15. Be sure to measure every fluke on a rigid measuring device before placing it in the cooler, as that extra half-inch can make the difference between a legal catch and a violation. Staying up to date on New York’s regulations helps protect the fishery while ensuring everyone enjoys a successful and legal season on the water.
