Freeport Hudson Anglers Shark And Fluke Tourney Results

The Freeport Hudson Anglers are pleased to announce that they are back from COVID and the 48th Annual Freeport Hudson Anglers Shark Tournament was a huge success! , Our Passion, captained by Jacob D’Ottavio, beat out approximately 25 competitors to win the event with a 345-pound thresher. D’Ottavio, was also the angler that reeled in the winning fish and he, along with the crew, took home $42,065 in total prize money. Taking second place was No Time captained by Nick Sevene with a 233.4-pound thresher. John Farren was the angler who manned the reel. No Time’s crew won $5,771 in total prize money. Coming in third place was the Black Pearl captained by Bryan Wetherall with a 201.4-pound thresher shark. Frank Sollecito was the angler who reeled in the fish and the crew earned $503 in total prize money.

In addition to the shark tourney, The Freeport Hudson Anglers also finished up their Fourth Annual Fluker Frenzy. The Fluke Frenzy drew approximately 40 participants who hit the waters to chase after a fluke worth over $1,600. Congratulations to Patrick Browne of Freeport who took first place with his 3.57-pound fluke measuring 20 inches. His fish was good for $726 in total prize money. Coming in second with a 3.17-pound fluke was Jerry Gimm who won $525 in total prize money. Gimm battled it out for second place over Lynn Donnelly, who finished third with a 3.11-pound fish. Donnelly won $85 in total prize money.
