Get Out Fishing In Connecticut With Care This Month

Connecticut’s CARE program offers a variety of “Learn to Fish” classes and events year-round. These fishing events are designed for adults ages 16 and up, as well as families with children aged 6 years or older. The CARE program will provide loaner fishing equipment, bait, and expert instruction. A Conservation Identification Number (CID) is required to register. Participants ages 16 and up must have a valid CT fishing license. Participants ages 15 and below must also obtain a free CID before registering and have the option to register for a YOUth Fishing Passport. A Conservation ID or a Youth Fishing Passport can be obtained by creating an account through their Online Licensing System.

There are several CARE events planned through the month of August, if you or a friend might like to get in on one of these learning opportunities, check out the list below and register by visiting www.portal.ct.gov/deep/fishing/care/care-fishing-classes.
