A new industry report urges the next administration and Congress to enforce the Modern Fish Act, which was signed into law last year.
“As America’s original conservationists, recreational anglers understand the value of healthy and abundant marine resources,” said Mike Leonard, vice president of government affairs for the American Sportfishing Association.
“In this report, we’ve identified several priority issue areas that warrant the attention of federal policymakers, helping to support conservation and public access to those resources,” he said.
Additional contributors to the report include the American Sportfishing Association, BoatUS, the Coastal Conservation Association, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, the International Game Fish Association, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership.
