Jersey Coast Shark Anglers Host Mako Fever & Tuna Fever June 19-27 - The Fisherman

Jersey Coast Shark Anglers Host Mako Fever & Tuna Fever June 19-27

While environmental organizations are once again gunning for shark fishermen, Jersey Coast shark fishermen are still gunning for legal mako sharks this month, while also on the hunt for tuna.

From June 19-27, Jersey Coast Shark Anglers (JCSA) will host both Mako Fever and Tuna Fever.  The Captains meeting or both tournaments will be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 18 at JCSA headquarters at 385 Herbertsville Road in Brick.  Entry fee for Mako Fever is $500 per day, while the separate Tuna Fever entry is $400 per day.  Tournament anglers can enter any day and fish as many days as they’d like.

Official tournament weigh-in will be held at Captain Bill’s Landing in Point Pleasant from 4-7 p.m. each day of the concurrently run tournaments.   Mako and Tuna Fever will run together for nine days of fishing,” said tournament director Rick Carroll, adding “Fish one day or as many as you would like with paid entries for each day running June 19 to June 27.”

In addition to the return of the Mako Fever event and the added option of Tuna Fever in June, JCSA has made another new addition to their 2021 tournament lineup with the 1st Annual High Rollers Tuna Tournament running on September 11.  “One day of fishing and the single largest tuna takes all the cash,” Carroll said.  The Captains meeting for that event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on September 10 at the JCSA Clubhouse.
