DEC has awarded more than $1.4 million for 23 projects to help communities within the Hudson River Estuary watershed improve water quality and enhance environmental education and stewardship. The grants will help communities develop plans and advance work on the ground to become more resilient to the ongoing impacts of climate change while protecting ecosystems and natural resources. The grants are administered by DEC’s Hudson River Estuary Program.
Funding for grants is provided by the State’s Environmental Protection Fund (EPF), a critical resource for environmental programs such as land acquisition, farmland protection, invasive species prevention and eradication, recreation access, water quality improvement, and environmental justice projects.
