New Jersey Boat Ramp Updates

One done, and one to go.  That’s the word from the New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife (Division) this winter in terms of ongoing public access work along the New Jersey waterfront.

On January 21, the Division announced that major renovations have been completed at the Point Pleasant Fishing Access and Boat Ramp Site, which is now reopen to the public. Improvements include new fencing along the canal, a new concrete boat ramp, improved parking for both trailers and anglers accessing the fishing area, a new extended fishing dock and a dock for launching boats.  In addition, the state announced that a living shoreline which utilizes native plantings to help control erosion caused by runoff from the onsite pond has also been created.

The Division also announced that the Tuckahoe Boat Ramp on Mosquito Landing Road in the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Cape May County was closed for renovations as of February 1.  Renovations at the Tuckahoe WMA will include a new cement ramp, replacement of the existing bulkhead, and installation of a floating dock.  Work is expected to be completed by late April.
