New Jersey’s Black Sea Bass Season Reopens

On Saturday, October 8, New Jersey’s black sea bass fishery official reopens with a 10 fish bag and a 12-1/2-inch size limit.  As of November 1 and through until the end of 2020 the bag limit is upped to 15 fish with a 13-inch size limit.

As of the September 19th close to the summer flounder season in New Jersey many head boats in the state hauled out for a few days for checkups and maintenance, but you can expect a full passenger load onboard as of Saturday.  With that said, if you haven’t called for reservations make sure you do so immediately.

Check our Fishing Reports section for a listing of for-hire boats you may want to call for the opener and available schedules.
