New RFA Director - The Fisherman

New RFA Director

The Recreational Fishing Alliance appointed longtime New Jersey lobbyist Robert Nixon its executive director.

Nixon is founder and president of State House Strategies and is director of government affairs with the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association. He previously represented the RFA as a lobbyist in Trenton and, since 2002, has been the lobbyist for the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, RFA said in a statement yesterday.

Nixon has been involved with boating laws on matters involving sales tax, protection of marinas and regulations on boatbuilding, the RFA said. He enjoys backwater fishing in the Florida Keys and surf fishing in New Jersey.

“Rob’s got the right blend of experience and industry knowledge to be successful,” said RFA chairman Robert T. Healey Jr. “I’m proud to stand with him in advocating for anglers’ rights and to help stem the tide of overreaching government regulations.”
