From July 7-9, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and its Division of Fish & Wildlife (Division) will present its Sisters Afield workshops. The program for women of color who want to learn the art of angling as a life skill, and to build a community of support for ongoing fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities.
The first session is scheduled July 7-9 at the Sedge Island Natural Resource Education Center located off of Island Beach State Park in Seaside Park.
This weekend long program will be held at the Sedge Island Natural Resource Education Center located off of Island Beach State Park in Seaside Park and will have women and children exploring the salt marsh through fishing, clamming and kayaking. Attendees arrive at Sedge Island at 5 p.m. on July 7 and will return at 2 p.m. on July 9. Cost is $100 for one female parent/guardian and one child, and $20 for one additional child.
