Ongoing New Jersey Fishing TOURNA.M.ENTS Nov & Dec

There are times during the summer months when there are three or four different fishing tournaments on any given weekend.  While single-day tournaments are thinning out for the season along the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region, keep in mind that there are a few fishing tournaments carrying over across multiple months that are still I play, and still taking entries.

The Fisherman Magazine annually hosts two season-long tournaments exclusively for subscribers, the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge and the Coastal Kayak Clash.  Each event runs through November 30 and requires a subscription to The Fisherman Magazine as tournament entry.

The Dream Boat is a “catch and weigh-in” tournament where qualifying fish from eight eligible species are brought to certified weigh stations (tackle shops).  Multiple prizes are awarded across the leaderboard, 10 positions and eight species of fish, but a top points gatherer in the season-long event cruises off in a ’25 Steiger Craft, Yamaha and Minn Kota package.

If you prefer paddling or pedaling, The Fisherman’s Coastal Kayak Clash is for kayak anglers who “catch and photograph” their big catches to earn prizes including a Hobie Mirage Lynx fully outfitted by YakAttack. For all the details on these contests presented by The Fisherman Magazine, go to the Contest tab at the top of our homepage.  Remember, you have until November 30 to subscribe and win.

Through November 30 you also have the 71st Annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic.  “The Derby” kicked off earlier than normal in ’25 for striped bass, bluefish, kingfish, redfish, tautog and now fluke prizes for surfcasters. Stop by a participating LBI tackle shop or visit lbisfc.com.

Ending one week earlier is the Atlantic County Surf Fishing Derby, also known as the annual Pat Erdman Memorial Tournament for stripers, bluefish, tautog, kingfish and sheepshead from Brigantine to Longport. Running through November 23, registration and tournament weigh-in is at Ray Scott’s Dock in Margate.  For details email ed@steelfinangling.com.

If you’d like to carry that competitive angling just bit farther into the season, you also have the Riptide Fall Striped Bass Derby running through December 14.  This annual surf tournament on the beaches of Brigantine offers prizes for striped bass, bluefish, kingfish, tautog and black drum.  Get details at Riptide Bait and Tackle in Brigantine or call 609-264-0440.
