Long Island Fisherman subscriber Mike Conner poses with a 42-inch striper that he caught from a central South Shore inlet in the end of October. Marquis caught this 34-inch striper, which was released promptly after this photo. He was fishing with Bill Mistano on the Wild Bill out of Island Park. The fish was caught in 30 feet of water outside of Debs Inlet. It was also his first striper! This year’s Fred Golofaro South Shore Classic winner Junior Castro shows off a personal best 37-pound striper he caught this fall from the South Shore of the island on a Super Strike Darter. Jason and John drove to Montauk from Kentucky on Oct 26, 2024 to experience topwater striper action near the Montauk lighthouse while fishing aboard the Montauk charterboat, Trophy Hunter. Photo by Capt Mike Larson. While fishing right outside of Jones Inlet in the end of October, Nick Barreiros found an active pod of adult bunker and found this oversized striper feeding on them. The fish was released right after a quick photo. The Lazy Bones out of Montauk had some spectacular striper jigging trips for their customers during the end of October, with plenty of action on fish of all sizes and bonus sea bass as well. Alan Yee followed the late-season striper run down to Brielle, NJ and fished on the On Point for this bass he caught with a live bunker. All fish were released after the fight. Jeanine Lichter fished west of Jones Inlet in November for this oversized striper that was caught off a bunker pod aboard the Dixie Outlaw.
