Some say that late-summer fishing is just not worth it; nothing could be further from the truth! We have had an exceptionally juxtaposed summer, with a cool start and a scorching middle. Pretty much the entire month of July was 85 degrees or more which definitely had an effect on the fishing. But those that got out with experienced charter captains or ventured out into deeper water were rewarded with excellent fishing for a variety of species. There’s also a payoff that comes with warmer-than-normal summer waters, as long as we don’t have a frigid or extraordinarily stormy fall, the run just might last a little longer. Hang your hat on that, for now.
