A few snapshots from Spring Lake from the opening day of trout season.
Once again in 2023 the Shark River Surf Anglers (SRSA) hosted their annual Trout Contest for Kids at Spring Lake on April 8, the opening day for New Jersey’s trout season. The annual contest coincides with the American Legion Post 432’s opening day festivities at Spring Lake assisted by the Surf Kings Fishing Club. It was another huge success at Spring Lake, bringing smiles to the faces of a lot of young anglers at the Jersey Shore. Congratulations to Forrest Black, the top prize winner on the day for a 6-pound, 14-ounce brown trout, edging out a few of these impressive catches.
