Blackfish or beach fishing? Fall is a great time for either fishery, and despite the one-fish bag limit on tautog in New Jersey, one good fish could put you in the money on Saturday, October 19 in the Bobby Tosto Blackfish Tournament presented by the Staten Island Tuna Club.
As of Tuesday, October 15, the New York fall tautog season kicked into gear in the NY Bight with a 16-inch minimum size and four-fish bag limit; it’s the same minimum size on Long Island Sound as of October 11, but with a three-fish bag. For more details on Saturday’s blackfish event out of Staten Island, call Angelo Pignataro at 917-440-6959.
For surfcasters, don’t miss the 6th Annual American Angler Surf Fishing Tournament on Saturday, October 19. This surfcasters only event will be held on LBI, and is sanctioned by Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC), open to teams and Individuals.
