AnglerCatch, a fishing logbook mobile app, is teaming up with RIDEM and the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association to take the helm of this much-loved fishing tournament. We are excited to share that Ralph Craft is back by popular demand and will be staying on as the tournament director for 2024.
Formerly hosted by Crafty One Custom Rods, the Rhode Island Tog Classic has become a cherished tradition among local anglers. This year, AnglerCatch brings a fresh wave of excitement and innovation to the event, ensuring it’s not just about fishing but about making a difference too.
What’s New This Year?
A Smart Fishing Experience: AnglerCatch is not your ordinary fishing app. Our tagline, “a fisheries logbook with a purpose,” perfectly captures our mission to blend the thrill of fishing with meaningful contributions to fisheries management. Participants will use the AnglerCatch app to log their catches in real time, providing invaluable data to help sustain our precious marine resources.
Prizes Galore: From the largest tog (blackfish) to the most creative fishing selfies, we’ve got prizes that will make your catch of the day even more rewarding. And yes, there will be epic bragging rights up for grabs!
The 2023 Tog Classic had over 800 attendees across 11 states, the farthest traveler from California. Over $50,000 in raffle prizes were given away and cash prizes totaling over $25,000 were distributed.
