From the inshore grounds to the edge, the summer tournament season continues for the month of July, with the annual Staten Island Pink Ribbon Fluke Tournament next up on the circuit. This annual women’s only event supporting the American Cancer Society is presented by the Staten Island Fishing Club and will be held on Saturday, July 25. Whether you’re fishing the New York side of Raritan Bay or across the line, sign-up is on July 24 at Captain Marina on Mansion Avenue. For details email SIFishingClub@gmail.com.
The following week, the Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA) will bring back their annual fluke tournament from July 30 through August 2. First place will be a 25hp Yamaha outboard valued at $5,795 which will be awarded to the entrant who catches the largest fluke in the tournament. There will be a $1500 cash prize for 2nd place and a $750 cash prize for 3rd place based on just 75 entrants. Get all the details by visiting jcaa.org.
Smack dab in the middle of that contest is the 29th Annual Fluke Masters Tournament on Saturday, August 1, presented by Community Fire Company Number 4. For offshore billfishermen, don’t miss the annual Cape May Marlin Tournament from July 24-26. Presented by South Jersey Marina and South Jersey Tournaments, the captains meeting will be held on Thursday, July 23. Call 609-884-0177 or visit SouthJerseyTournaments.com.
Finally, to kick off the month of August, the 53rd Annual White Marlin Open will be held from August 3-8. This annual event out of Ocean City, MD offers one of the top total prize tallies in the business, with prize money awarded for white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, and dolphin.
