DEC and NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation held their second annual Women’s Fishing Expo recently at Connetquot River State Park Preserve. The Expo provided hands-on instruction and experiential learning in a fun and supportive environment. This free event was run primarily by female anglers and fisheries professionals who taught fishing basics and intermediate fishing skills, fly-casting instruction, and fisheries management. Participants also received a trout hatchery tour and marine fishing information.
