CATCH FOR THE CURE BLUEFISH TOURNEY

On Saturday, September 17, anglers will come together to fish the bountiful waters of Long Island Sound while also doing their part to work towards finding a cure for cancer as part of The Catch for the Cure Bluefish Tournament and Picnic. Now in its fourth year, the proceeds from this bluefish tournament will once again benefit Closer to Free, a joint fund for Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale Cancer Center

FISHING & WEIGH-IN:

Lines in at 12:01 AM on September 17 and the final weigh-in at the Branford Elks (minimum weight for weigh-in is 12 pounds) is at 4:00 PM. Weigh-ins will begin at 10:00 AM.

PRIZES:
There will be cash prizes paid out for the top three heaviest bluefish as follows: First Prize Boat: $2,000.00 Second Prize Boat: $1,000.00 Third Prize Boat: $500.00 and this year there is a separate shore division with a payout of $1,000 for the largest shore-caught bluefish!

DETAILS:
The tournament entry fee is just $45 for adults, $20 for kids 16 and under, and includes a picnic after the final weigh-in at the Branford Elks Club, 158 South Montowese Street, Branford, CT. There will be raffles as well as a silent auction at the picnic, and tickets may be purchased for the picnic-only for $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
