CATCH US AT THE NY BOAT SHOW

The biggest and longest running boating show in the metro area will be berthed at the Jacob Javits Convention Center from Wednesday, January 25th through Sunday, January 29th as the New York Boat Show celebrates its 112th year. Show hours are Wednesday to Friday: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Convention Center is located at 655 West 34th Street, New York, NY. Tickets are $16 for adults; children 15 and under are free. They can be purchased at the show or online at NYBoatShow.com.

Aside from the hundreds of fishing machines and all of the major electronics manufacturers displaying the latest fish-finding technology, fishermen can hone their fishing skills and expand on their angling knowledge by attending some of the many fishing seminars being conducted every day of the show by some of the regions top fishermen. On Wednesday, Capt. Frank Crescitelli will cover Fishing With Electronics at 1 p.m. On Thursday, Ed Gleason of Garmin will help you catch more fish through the use of your electronics at 1p.m. At 4 p.m., Capt. Vinnie Calabro will share his expertise on fishing Jamaica Bay. On Friday, Capt. Frank Crescitelli is back covering all you need to know about cast netting your own live bait and how to fish it effectively. Capt. John Paduano, one of the regions best light tackle guides, takes the stage at 3 p.m. to share his extensive knowledge on the subject. If you are looking to sharpen your fluke catching skills, be sure to catch Capt. Austin Perilli at 5 p.m. On Saturday, Capt. Joe Paradiso will be talking North Fork Stripers at 11 a.m., followed by Keefe Vallaro on how to improve your odds for doormat fluke. Capt. Tom Mikoleski takes the stage at 5 p.m. to cover striper fishing in the legendary rips of Montauk. On Sunday, Capt. Joe Mattioli gets things started at 11 a.m. as he discusses light tackle opportunities in New York Bight. If you are into the offshore scene, you won’t want to miss Anthony Vaccaro of the White Water Fishing Team at 3 p.m. He’ll be sharing lots of expert advice on rigging and presenting offshore baits and lures.
