He said it’s mostly the smaller, shallower ponds, but even some of the smaller trout ponds have hardened up to walk on. This has yielded very good fishing for bass, pickerel and panfish along with some nice holdover trout. From Belsan’s Bait trout and bass were the main story from the ponds of Plymouth out onto the Cape. There was a lot of anticipation for some safe local ice, while diehards were traveling north and west to get on safe inland ice. Reports coming back from those inland ponds were good, pickerel, perch and bass leading the way and some trout in the mix as well.
