Big Mohawk III

“The boat got out on four trips for blackfish this past week and found the fishing picky at best,” said Greg Hueth of the Big Mohawk III. Greg said anglers also caught ling and other fish but the tog numbers simply were not up to par. Hopefully the seas will settle down and produce some better numbers of keepers he said. In other news Greg has been nominated to the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council. Congratulations to Greg, who is not only a boat captain but an avid fishermen, both fresh and saltwater. He is sure to apply his no-nonsense, common-sense approach to fisheries management!

“We got out on Monday and found some blackfish with a catch dominated by smaller fish and a fair amount of keepers,” said Greg Hueth of the Big Mohawk III. Greg told us the boat will be fishing tog this week and hopefully will be able to get in a few more days. Sometimes you just have to make the best of things and that is just what Greg and the gang did this past Saturday with the Kids fishing contest at Spring Lake. Despite a windy cold morning they gave away all kinds of prizes and all who attended enjoyed a nice day of fishing. A tip of the old angler’s cap to Greg and all who help make the annual event a big success.
