Heather at The Blackhawk office reports, “We had a good week of fishing on the Black Hawk! Our porgy trips showed some great fishing, with jumbo porgies coming over the rails on most of our trips. Lots of limits around the boat, with others just taking what they wanted for dinner. Overall, a good week on the porgy grounds. We had some sea bass in the mix, as well as some fluke and even a smooth puffer fish! Our After Work trips and private charters this week did some bass fishing, and had some great trips! Our charter on Tuesday night, especially, showed non-stop action from start to finish, with almost a full boat limit of slot sized fish, and many larger fish released unharmed. A beautiful night on the water! Speaking of beautiful nights on the water, our first sunset cruise of the season on Saturday night was one of them! The fog lifted in time for a beautiful sunset, and the seals were extra curious about the boat and put on a show playing and splashing in the water. We had a great night and raised money for several local organizations. These trips are all fundraisers for our Black Hawk and the Community program, so grab your tickets and join us for a great night for a good cause! We're fishing every day now, so check our website for the updated schedule. Fluke starts this Thursday, our famous "family trips" start this Saturday, July 4, and our fireworks cruises are coming soon! There's something for everyone on the Black Hawk! Grab your tickets and join us! We look forward to seeing everyone soon!”

Heather at The Blackhawk office reports, “It was another week of good fishing on the Black Hawk! Our weekday bottom fishing trips had some great fishing, with lots of jumbo porgies coming over the rails! Lots of limits around the boat on several of the trips, and close to it on others. As always, some just took what they wanted for a meal and others played catch and release. There were also some sea bass in the mix. Our After Work trips and private charters this week did some bass fishing, and had some non-stop action! As always, we released some overs and shorts, and had some nice slot fish for the coolers. On our first fluke trip on Thursday, we picked away on a lot of shorts and managed only a few keepers. Not exactly how we would have liked to start off the fluke season but unfortunately, that's fishing sometimes. We look forward to better results in the weeks ahead. Our first family trip of the season was a success, with many kiddos reeling in some nice porgies. Special thanks to Mason, who spent his 7th birthday with us reeling in some porgies. Happy Birthday Mason! The next two Saturday nights we have our fireworks cruises. We have our regular sunset cruises returning July 25. These trips are all fundraisers for our BlackHawk and the Community program, so grab your tickets and join us for a great night for a good cause! We also have our 2nd annual Summer Food drive returning on July 6. Bring an item from our list, and your trip could be free! We're fishing every day now, so check our website for the updated schedule. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!”
