The guys at Campsite Sport Shop in Huntington reports the striped bass are hanging in there with trolling Mojo’s during the early morning hours and live eels at night. Flutter spoons and glider baits are effective at times as well. At this point you must be at the right place at the right time to score on the stripers. Live bait has also been working well however the store does not carry live or frozen bait. Fluke fishing showed a bit of improvement this week with some nice keepers coming out of Northport Bay with Gulp on high/low rigs accounting for fluke to 5 pounds. Porgy fish is improving, especially from anglers casting from all the beaches at high tide.

Trolling Mojo’s and umbrella rigs are all producing also as is live bait. Fluke are hitting Gulp on high/low rigs on either moving tide however keepers have been hard to come by. Porgy fishing has been spotty due to the major influx of stripers looking to swallow the scup up whole.
