Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle

Down the road at Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle in Oakdale, Billy reported fluke reports are great again this week, with a lot of fluke around. You’ll have to cull through some shorts to bring your keepers home, but there are tons of fish to catch and lots of fun to be had. Fish light, fish bright, and move around often. If you find yourself catching short after short, move on to the next spot and try to find some bigger fish. Billy has been having some great luck with the snap jig bucktails. Some solid weakfish are in the mix, and they love a finesse presentation with bright-colored little plastics and bucktails. Sea bass, porgies, and some good fluke are roaming around the wrecks and reefs outside. Drop some bait or a jig down, and you’ll be in ’em in no time. Tuna reports are still going off, and the jig and popper bites are really strong. Lots of big mahimahi are ripping around as well. At the docks, we’re seeing a ton of snappers and blue claw crabs. The shop is loaded with everything you could possibly need for a great time at the docks with the entire family or a fun afternoon by yourself. The crabs and snappers are plentiful and are always a blast to catch.

Down the road at Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle in Oakdale, Billy reported more good fluke reports coming in the shop this week. Seems like the consensus is there are tons of fish to catch, just not tons of keepers. Still, limits are possible and happening locally. If you’re on the shorts for a few drifts, head to another spot and give that a go. Our shop rigs tipped with the classic squid and spearing combo or some Gulp Swimming Mullets seems to be a favorite of both fish and fishermen. On the reefs and wrecks, they’re catching sea bass, porgy, and some fluke too. The tuna bite is back on, and poppers and jigs are the go-to lures right now. Side Trackers will always put them in the boat too. At the docks, snappers are showing up, and so are plenty of blue claw crabs! Tons of fun for the whole family, and the shop is stocked with everything you need!”
