Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle

Down the road at Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle in Oakdale, Billy reported fluke reports this week are great. There are still plenty of shorts to catch, but there are keepers coming through the bays too, and anglers are taking notice. They’re on the flats, in the channels, sitting on every slope, and in every dip. Boat guys are crushing it on bait and the killer shop rigs. Bucktails and jigs are putting in work too. Adding teasers is increasing the hookup ratio. Fish light and fish bright! Billy said he has been crushing it from the shore with Vinny Cagnina, using jerk shads on jigheads, and curly tails on bucktails. The guys fish light action freshwater rods, with 10-pound braid and fluorocarbon leaders so every subtle bite is felt and capitalized on. Sea bass reports on the outside wrecks and reefs are coming in hot. Lots of quality biscuits down there chomping up clams and jigs. On the docks we are seeing tons of snappers, blue claw crabs, and even some kingfish. Plentiful action and lots of fun for all ages.

Down the road at Chasing Tails Bait & Tackle in Oakdale, Billy reported fluke and sea bass reports this week have been fantastic. The area saw a solid body of good-sized fluke rip through, and the ocean wrecks and reefs are holding some good flatties too. Anglers are having great luck with big bucktails and plastics, and teasers as always. Sea bass are out there with them, all over the jig bite. But a classic rig with bait will always work too. The offshore bite is still lit up with good mahi mahi and tuna reports. Poppers, bugs, side trackers are all getting smoked by solid tuna. At the docks, anglers are having a great time with blue claw crab, tons of snappers, and even some blowfish that started to move in. There is plenty of summer left, and plenty of outside fun to be had.
