He is a fourth generation fisherman from Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island and has been successfully catching all varieties of fish in Cold Spring Harbor, the surrounding harbors, and Long Island Sound for the last 25 years. Due to his unique knowledge of this area and extensive experience, Capt. Herb has been able to develop fishing techniques unknown to other, less seasoned fisherman in his neck of the woods. Striped bass fishing (early spring through late fall) is Capt. Herb's most popular pursuit as well as his personal favorite, and he’s tallied many trophy fish up to 53 pounds. Capt. Herb’s current vessel goes by the name King Fisher and is a diesel powered 30 foot Sisu that can accommodate one to six passengers. She is equipped with all the latest fish finding and navigational electronics to give you the ultimate edge and the most fishing excitement for your money. Bait and top of the line tackle are covered by Capt. Herb and lunch and beverages can be made available upon request. He also offers transportation to and from the Long Island Rail Road as an added convenience. Night bass trips accommodate those who can’t make it out during the day andor hardcore striper junkies seeking the cow of their dreams.
