Ralph Craft at Crafty One Customs has been hearing reports of schools of pogies/bunker showing up in the bay along with striped bass ranging in size from schoolies up to around 35 inches. Tautog fishing has been a little slow, but a few customers are catching them up in shallow water and the fishing will continue to improve as water temperatures rise. So far, there haven’t been any reliable reports of squid showing up around the islands, but they could start showing up at any time.

Ralph Craft at Crafty One Customs still isnt hearing too much for fishing reports but expects that to change quickly over the next few weeks. The water just needs to warm up a few degrees for the tautog bite to take off and migratory striped bass should be showing up around the islands fairly soon. There havent been any reports of squid showing up yet locally and its probably going to be a few weeks before that bite really starts to pick up. A few guys have been out togging in the bay and finding some fish, it seems like the blackfish bite is starting off a littler hotter than usual which is great to see.
