Christian from Falmouth Bait & Tackle said they were open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 to 5 they’ll be going full time soon. Call ahead if you need something or have a question about selecting tuna gear. The bass fishing has been good along the Falmouth shore and Bird Island with white and bone colored lures doing the trick on the surface. There are still a lot of tog being caught and one customer had one of 6.9 pounds on a rockpile off Falmouth in 35-feet of water. The tog are not all in shallow water in the spring.

Christian from Falmouth Bait & Tackle said all was well at the shop with about half of his inventory up and the rest to be displayed over the next week. There were reports of schoolies in West Falmouth Harbor and he has been selling crabs to tog fishermen, some of which are catching tog inside of Woods Hole. A lady friend of his stopped by the Canal on Friday evening to check it out and found stripers breaking around the herring run and she didn’t have any tackle with her. Give Christian a call to meet him at the shop for all your bait and tackle needs as he has offshore bait coming in and is waiting for the squid boats to bring in local squid which he packs for bait.
