Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business ended the 2020 season on a high note with the last trips producing limits of chunky togs for all their groups. The boat is now hauled out and will be getting ready for the spring. Capt. Phil would like to thank all those fishing with them and making 2020 a successful year despite the craziness. They are looking forward to seeing and fishing with everyone again for the 2021 season. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business out of Orient reports The Huntington Anglers fished Blackfish this where hard currents and strong winds made fishing tough, but the guys hung in and fished hard putting a decent catch together. Capt. Phil would like to thank all those who sailed with him this year and would like to wish everyone a happy Holiday Season. Phil is accepting reservations for the 2021 season. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports the excellent tog bite continues this week. The Salutto group took advantage of the nice weather early in the week that produced a boat limit of chunky togs for the guys. There were some future sharpies on board that made their dad’s proud putting some quality tog in the box, great job guys. Also early in the week the Scotti crew enjoyed super weather and great fishing resulting in a full boat limit of quality togs to 7 ½-pounds along with a shot of sea bass to round out the day. The Herold group fished their annual blackfish trip this week enjoying solid action throughout the trip landing a boat limit of quality white chins to 8-pounds and a few sea bass to sweeten the catch. The Heller group made it out for blackfish enjoying another awesome fishing day, putting a boat limit of husky togs on ice to 8 ½-pounds with many 5 to 8-pounders mixed in along with a bunch of nice sea bass. The Mike Tuna crew fished again for blackfish on Friday and the guys put a limit on board to 8 ½-pounds along with some big sea bass. Short blackfish kept the rods bent on all trips. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports excellent blackfishing again this week. The Merrick Rod and Gun club sailed for a blackfish trip enjoying steady action with a boat limit of chunky white chins to 7-pounds, a slew of shorts and some sea bass to round out an early day back to the dock. The Danowski group came out for their annual blackfish trip this week enjoying good weather and fishing putting their limit of quality togs on ice to 10-pounds. Saturday saw the Sporakis group have a great day with great weather and super fishing with a boat limit of chunky togs to 8-pounds as well as a nice shot of sea bass and short blackfish resulting in an early return home. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports blackfishing just keeps getting better and better. The Mike Tuna group fished in a crisp north wind that made the tog hungry with the gang enjoying a great day icing their limit of white chins to 9 ½-pounds with some 7 and 8-pounders along with 42 keeper sea bass and one lone codfish. The 562 Fishing Club came out for their annual blackfish trip this week with the guys enjoying solid action throughout the trip. When the smoke cleared, they had put a boat limit of chunky white chins on ice to 6-pounds along with a few quality sea bass. The Hetterich group came out Wednesday for some blackfishing. The east wind and rain didn’t bother the togs as the guys enjoyed a solid bite and landed a boat limit of quality white chins to 9-pounds. Short life filled in the gaps along with some sea bass. The Ayers group fished in beautiful weather early in the week and put an easy limit of blackfish on ice along with some sea bass. Saturday’s trip saw the Chen group put a limit of chunky togs on ice to 7-pounds along with some sea bass. Short tog kept the crew hopping and on their feet. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports the super fishing conditions on each trip this week. The Mayer group put a limit of tasty togs on ice to 7 ½-pounds. Tremendous short life along with a nice shot of sea bass kept everyone busy. Benaldo and friends enjoyed good fishing getting their limit of tog along with some jumbo sea bass. Again short life in between keepers kept the anglers busy. Tuesday’s open boat trip produced a full boat limit of blackfish to 8-pounds. Loads of shorts were also released. Thursday’s open boat trip saw great results with limit catches for most anglers of fish to 11.12-pounds with lots of 4 and 5-pounders, along with a few 7 and 8-pounders making the bulk of the catch. Friday was another good day as everyone caught a limit or limit plus along with some sea bass to sweeten the catch. Pool was split between a pair of 8-pounders. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports the blackfish continue to bite their heads off. Plenty of nice sea bass are mixing in with the tog. The Herold group had great fishing this week on the shallow water blackfish grounds, with over 100 blackfish landed. The crew kept their limit, releasing the rest. It was steady action throughout the trip. The Zaino group made another trip and again put a limit of tog to 6-pounds in the box and releasing many keepers and shorts. Thursday’s sold out open boat blackfish trip today was a good one as anglers enjoyed steady action on every drop with a limit of chunky togs taking the ride home. Short action in between kept everyone busy with the pool fish weighing in at 6 ½-pounds. As always, the sharpies had the edge, while others struggled. All trips did also see a good shot of quality sea bass mixed in. There are still some dates available for blackfish charters for the remainder of the season. In addition, Capt. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business out of Orient reports sea bass, scup, stripers and blues continues to be solid, but the time to move on to tog has come. Sunday’s blackfish debut for the Zaino group enjoyed slamming a boat limit of nice hefty tog to over 8-pounds in less than an hour. Looks as its going to be one hell of a great season. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports the Alleyne group fished in windy conditions early this week, with good fishing. The anglers spent the first part of the day using bucktails where blues and bass kept the guys busy with fish on every drift. A load of blues we’re put on ice with one slot striper. They finished the day bottom fishing with a tote of porgies hitting the fillet table. The Troiano group also fished in some windy conditions but had a good drift and a great day employing bucktails with solid action of blues and bass that kept the guys on their toes, culling out 5 slot stripers and keeping 10 blues, releasing a load of others. Friday, the O’Neil group enjoyed great weather and fishing using bucktails for bass and blues, receiving quite a workout tackling and releasing a load of monster blues and putting a couple of keeper bass in the box before completing to fill the box with a full limit of sea bass for a great day on the water. The DePasquale group fished recently with the guys having a great day with weather and fishing. with great action with blues and bass culling 4 slot stripers, a pile of sea bass, and released a load of scrappy blues. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports fishing remains terrific on all ends. The Dillolo group fished this week and the guys had a great trip with a limit of sea bass before getting a workout battling bluefish and some short stripers. The Bordsen group fished a combo trip enjoying flat calm seas and great fishing. Drifting bucktails produced a nice load of blues and some short bass. The switch to bottom fishing had the guys a limit of tasty sea biscuits on ice for the barbecue. The Barron group fished for a ½-day trip. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business out of Orient reports the Knox family fished a half day trip and had a good morning with a nice mixed bag drift fishing with bucktails, which included a couple slot stripers, sea bass, and blues. The Abramsky group did a morning trip and enjoyed beautiful weather and good fishing with a box full of sea bass, a bunch of stripers with a couple slot size keepers, and a bunch of blues all released. Nice trip. This week’s open boat sea bass trip saw 9 anglers made easy work with a boat limit of jumbo sea bass and a shot of porgies for good measure. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business out of Orient reports another good week on the fishing grounds. The Cannel Landscape group came for an afternoon evening bass and bluefish trip and had solid action with jumbo blues and stripers, culling out 4 slot size ass for the table. The Savage group did a combo trip, bucktailing a load of big blues and some short stripers with one slot making the box and keeping a few blues for the smoker. A switch to bottom fishing put a limit of tasty sea bass on ice as well. The Eagle Freight group sailed for a combo trip, enjoying great action battling big blues and some slot and short striper, finishing the day with a limit of sea bass and some porgies. The Bordsen group sailed a combo trip and enjoyed an excellent day catching a limit of sea bass, a load of big blues and porgies.

Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports another super week of mix bag fishing. During the week, the Torres group had a great time landing a nice limit of tasty sea bass, , porgies, and gorilla bluefish. Great trip. The Bordsen group sailed on a combo trip and the guys enjoyed an excellent day of fishing, catching, and retaining a limit of sea bass, a load of big blues and a bunch of porgies. Capt. Phil Kess of the Fishy Business reports the Ambrosio group came out for an action-packed day culling 3 slot stripers, while releasing many shorts and a load of blues The crew moved on to bottom fishing for a limit of sea bass and a load of porgies for an awesome trip with solid action. The Taurisano group came out for a combo trip and the anglers enjoyed an excellent day on the water by limiting on tasty sea bass and a good shot of scup. Moving on to drifting bucktails saw the crew battled some big blues for the smoker and short bass for a good trip. Capt.
