Kathy Sansonetti at Freeport Bait and Tackle told me that it was a slow week for reports with nothing significant happening. The shop has a complete line of baits including green crabs, mussels, fresh clams, bloodworms and sandworms. Currently the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The shop is closed on Wednesdays. Kathy Sansonetti at Freeport Bait and Tackle told me that tog and bass in Jamaica Bay are making their move into our local waters. Some anglers working the waters at Field 6 and the back bay areas reported mostly schoolie size bass are responding to yellow SP Minnows and Joe Baggs Swarters. There is also a good bite on bunker and they are also making their way east. Blackfish are getting active at local bridges.
