Capt. Joe said the Jamaica II had a great trip Monday with good numbers of keeper fluke and some sea bass to fill the coolers. Wednesday was another decent trip with some ling making it over the rails. Thursday was more success on the fluke grounds with a 6-pound, 6-ounce fish landed by Luis Gutierrez to take the lead in July’s pool. By Saturday poor conditions moved through and made it tough for the morning trip. The tide was against the wind and the millions of boats in the water for tournament fishing didn’t help any. They managed a lot of sea bass, a fair number of ling, and some keeper fluke. The afternoon trip was the opposite with a quick drift. Despite that, they had a fair amount of short life with a few keepers mixed in.

Capt. Joe said the Jamaica II started the week off slow having to grind all day with little reward. They managed a few keeper fluke and found okay short life, but nothing great. Some spots had more life than others. The rest of the week they kept trying for more fluke and found some sea bass and ling to add to coolers.
