Capt. Joe on the Jamaica II reported a week of changing conditions but enough action to keep anglers engaged. Cooler bottom temperatures slowed the bite on Monday, though several anglers still managed to box out on sea bass. Steve earned bragging rights as the hot hand of the day, finishing with a limit-plus catch of sea bass while also landing a quality blackfish and cod, both of which were released. Wednesday started strong with a productive morning bite before tapering off during the afternoon. Even so, quite a few anglers managed sea bass limits around the boat. Thursday produced some of the better fish of the week, with anglers connecting with a number of quality sea bass. Friday saw the boat picking away at keeper sea bass throughout the grounds, with legal fish coming from nearly every stop. As is often the case, some anglers dialed in the bite and did very well, while others had to work a bit harder for their catch. Saturday began with promising life and a decent pick of fish, but the action slowed as the morning progressed. Anglers fishing jigs tipped with teasers continued to stay in the game, picking away at sea bass when bait rigs became less productive.

Capt. Joe of the Jamaica II reported a noticeable improvement in the sea bass bite throughout the week. Monday's trip saw much better fishing than previous outings, with jigs and teasers outfishing bait by a wide margin, though anglers still managed to pick away at some quality fish on natural offerings. Tuesday started with a steady pick before slowing during the middle of the day, but a strong finish kept rods bending. With baitfish scattered throughout the grounds, jigs and teasers once again proved to be the most productive approach, while bait anglers added a few keeper sea bass to the mix. Wednesday offered a consistent pick throughout the day. Artificial presentations continued to generate the most bites, but anglers fishing bait still boxed some quality fish. On Thursday, the crew picked and plucked away at sea bass from start to finish, with plenty of anglers reaching their limits. Squid also began showing up in the catches, adding another welcome option for those looking to fill the cooler. Friday started with a solid morning bite before settling into a slower but steady pick. Even so, plenty of limits were recorded around the boat, capping off an encouraging stretch of sea bass fishing.
