Maco's Bait and Tackle

He was selling green crabs to shore guys, but Tony at Maco’s Bait & Tackle said he has not seen or heard of a legal tog being caught yet. There is a great deal of freshwater action with stocked trout and some very good largemouth fishing as these bass are now much more active after a few days of warming sunshine. Tony put his schoolie rod in the truck which means we can expect some fresh run fish by next weekend.

According to Tony at Maco’s Bait & Tackle the sales of freshwater baits and lures are topping the requests for green crabs because thus far no one has caught a tog from the Maritime docks. Tony figures it would be another sunny week before the temperatures turn into the high 40’s and the tog move in. The local ponds are giving up trout and largemouth and the Wareham herring run looks very good at this time. It still looks like the last week of April before the first schoolies reach the canal herring run.
