Capt. Sam Rescigno of the Mary M IV reported a steady pick of sea bass and porgies. While the action hasn't been spectacular, anglers are still managing to put fish in the cooler. The crew expects to shift gears to striped bass fishing soon, with reports of bass stretching from Barnegat Inlet north to Manasquan Inlet providing plenty of encouragement for the upcoming switch.

The morning started slowly, but the bite improved as the day progressed. Anglers brought in a roughly 50/50 mix of porgies and sea bass, with bluefish making an appearance as well. Sam expects the fishing to improve further as the swell continues to settle, setting the stage for more productive trips ahead.
