Fishing this past week aboard the charter boat MiJo was a pick of keepers and plenty of short fluke and one fish limits of sea bass. Capt. Mike Scardingo told me he got in most of his trips despite the weather and said this is some of the craziest weather we have ever seen. Hopefully things will settle down this week, he said.

Another person that told us it wasn’t until August that the fluke fishing really heated up was Capt. Bob Henn of the half day boat Ebbtide Too. Bob told me he the second half of the month saw some of the best fluke and sea bass fishing of the season and hopefully this is a sign that September will be a good one. Bob said the boat will switch over to 3/4-day sea bass fishing when the bag limit goes up to 10 fish on September 23.
