“Needless to say we did not fish most of this past week for our third week of lost trips,” said Capt. Mike Scardingo of the MiJo. “We finally got out on Saturday but failed to find a striper despite burning a lot of fuel running all over looking for the bass,” he said, saying too that it would be nice if Mother Nature is finally done throwing her weather tantrums so we can have a good November. “Hopefully the fishing will break open this coming week,” Mike said.

“For the third straight week we lost all our trips,” Capt. Mike Scardingo of the charter boat MiJo told me on October 18, adding how you just can’t make this stuff up. He said he did not want to jinx us but we have to have a better November. “There was word of stripers coming down the coast from northern waters and once again the weather threw a third storm at us,” said Capt. Mike, adding “All we can do is wait and see what the storm does to the fishing.”

Over at the dock of the charter boat Mi Jo Capt. Mike Scardingo said he got in a pair of bottom fishing trips this past week. This week’s trips mirrored most of the recent trips with anglers catching a lot of fish and shorting out a few keepers. Mike said he expects to see the striper fishing break open in a week or so then switch to the linesiders.
