A Friday trip for stripers aboard the Miss Belmar Princess failed to find any ocean striper so the boat switched over to bottom fishing and anglers enjoyed a good catch of jumbo ling along with a lot of decent size sea bass which had to be put back because of the closed season. Saturday’s trip was a carbon copy with sea bass and ling coming over the rails. Capt. Al Shinn said the boat will continue to fish for stripers with the option of switching to bottom fishing if no stripers are found until May 17 when the sea bass season opens back up.
