Captain Sal from the Moondance in Montauk reported that Louisa gave the gift of shark to her nephews Jack and Matt. They came out and bagged a small mako and a 250-pound brown shark. The brown shark was tough to get to the boat. Both fish were released unharmed. Donald from Monroe came out with Desiree and wanted a big striper and they found a few at Block. They were very happy. Nick and crew came out and the star of the show was 9-year-old Henry. He had at first didn’t want to come out of the cabin, but Mate Danny coaxed him to come on out and fish and he was hooked. He counted 42 fish that he caught himself. At first, they had to help him, but then he was on his own and really it was great to see a young kid like that so fascinated and involved with fishing. CJ and sons came out with Paul and niece Meaghan.

Jill from the November Rain said “Evandro, Nico and their buddies started the week off with us. We were originally booked for tuna, but seeing all the striped bass being caught, they decided to give the inshore scene a try. It paid off nicely. Conditions weren’t great, but they put some quality sea bass and striped bass in their coolers. Mark Klosner returned early in the week as well for his annual trip. We stayed local and while the striped bass bite was less than impressive, the sea bass chewed pretty well. We had the Kevin Kern group for their annual trip as well this week. The FDNY family caught and released some slob bass to start the trip off, finishing off with a nice cull of sea bass. First-timer Nicolle Brescia and family came out mid-week for her birthday. We put the jigs in the water and the bass bite didn’t disappoint. The guys had a blast fighting multiple fish in the 35-40 pound class, all of which were released. Travis and his buddies also returned for another trip this week. The guys trolled up some bombs, releasing them all. We wrapped up that trip with a couple dozen sea bass for the dinner table. Friday saw birthday boy Peter Wagenhauser freshly back from his family trip to Ireland. The group of 10 hammered the striped bass. Only three made it into the box, but they released at least another 2 dozen slobs. The week wrapped up with the Carlos Rivera charter. We started off putting a dozen sea bass in the box to make sure we had some meat for the dinner table. Then dug into a handful of oversized bass for the remainder of the trip. The bite continues to be pretty strong out here.” Give them a call at (646) 335-7315 to book a trip.
