Capt. Tom said the Norma K III finally got out on the water this past Friday. Anglers had to sort through plenty of short sea bass and pesky squid to put together a catch of keepers, but those who stayed persistent were rewarded. Interestingly, the deeper the boat ventured, the less life was found, with the better action coming in shallower areas. Jigs clearly outproduced bait throughout the trip, accounting for the majority of the bites and keeper fish. Capt. Tom recommends bringing a spinning rod and a good selection of jigs, as artificial presentations were the key to success.
