Adam Wilson at North Country Gas Bait and Tackle in St. James reports good bass fishing off West Meadow Beach as John and Terry Familla hooked and released several stripers on Wednesday. During the week, Fred Shields fished the Middle Grounds and had a keeper striped bass and the first bluefish of the season from the area.

Adam Wilson at North Country Gas Bait and Tackle in St. James reports John Sebastian wrangled with some stripers in Smithtown Bay using Atom Poppers fishing in swift current. The fish were very aggressive. Jesse Dowdell and his sons managed some nice size blackfish and a few small stripers along Crane’s Neck. Anglers trying their luck with flounder found slow fishing inside Setauket Harbor.
