Old School Outdoors

We got a decent report from John Bullock over at over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing. He echoed the reports of good conditions in the river and said anglers stopping in his place were telling of tons of catfish being caught in the river at Lambertville. In addition he mentioned that bass and crappies continue to supply some good fishing in local ponds and lakes on topwater baits and weedless rigged plastics fished early and late in the day. John asked me to remind anglers that the shop carries a full line of frozen baits for freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing John Bullock told us that he has seen an uptick in the fishing since the late summer rains. Flathead fishing in Lambertville is off the charts and some big snakeheads are being caught from south of Trenton to Lambertville. Smallmouth fishing has also picked up. All this is good a good sign for the fishing in September, he said. Local lakes and ponds continue to supply some bass and crappies. John told me the reason some parts of the D and R Canal are slow is that otters have moved into the canal in the Lower Ferry Road area.
