Old School Outdoors

The word from John Bullock over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing was poor water conditions most of the week as well. John said anglers he spoke with said flatheads, blue cats and some smallies supply the fishing in the river this past week, however as of this report the water level was over 10 feet on Sunday morning. He said snakehead fishing has slowed down below Trenton. Local lakes and ponds continue to supply some decent bass, pickerel and crappie fishing and a mud sunfish, which is an endangered species fish, was caught and released in the Princeton area.

I checked with John over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing and he told me early week rains picked up water levels and roiled the river but as of this report it’s on the way back down. Plenty of catfish, smallies and a few walleyes were on the menu prior to the dirty water. Local lakes and Ponds are still giving up bass and crappies early and late in the day. A lot of local anglers have been fishing down the shore for the fluke, John said.
