Old School Outdoors

Over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing John Bullock told us the catfishing continues to surprise everyone with some of the best numbers of cats being taken in the evening and after dark. He also told us smallmouth fishing has been very good as well, along with an occasional walleye. While the canal action has been slow, the section from Titusville north seems to be giving up more fish. Looks like some of the local lakes have turned over and are giving up bass and crappies at a good rate. John summed it up by saying the fishing in the river should stay good right through October and local lakes and ponds should continue to fish well into November, especially on live bait, barring any adverse weather or water conditions of course.

Over at Old School Outdoors in Ewing John Bullock confirmed the excellent catfishing in the river, especially in the evenings and said with water temps dropping livelining will take a lot more smallies and cats than with artificials. He also told us he got a good report from Round Valley Reservoir where anglers are catching rainbows, lakers and a few browns along with largemouth, smallmouth and yellow perch. In addition he said local lakes and ponds are starting to see fall patterns develop and the fall feed is just around the corner and fishing has been good for bass, crappies and perch. John said the only fishery that was down this past week was the fishing in the D and R Canal.
