The crew at Fishermen’s Supply said a few boats are still picking away at tautog, but it’s certainly not lights out fishing. Of course, January blackfishing is rarely off the charts, but there is action to be had. One boat heading out over the weekend reported a lot of stripers off the beach, just not sure how far off the beach they actually were when they encountered these particular marks.

The Paramount is a Direktor Built 100ft. aluminum boat, licensed to carry up to 100 passengers. The original "Paramount" was a 52 foot wooden boat and sailed it's first trip from the Manasquan Inlet in 1932. In 1934 with Capt. John Bogan Sr., Capt. John Bogan Jr., Capt. James Bogan and a crew of about 10, The Paramount sailed out the Manasquan Inlet East approximately 10 miles. The Paramount and her crew, being one of the first boats to arrive, rescued 67 passengers and crew from the burning cruise ship Morro Castle.
