“Clams, eels, and bloodworms are all catching stripers behind Margate,” said Alex with Scott’s Dock. The fishing has been really good with lots of short fish falling for bloodworms, while keeper size fish are showing a preference for live eels and fresh clams. A few black drum were also reported recently from the back bays of Atlantic City, also caught on fresh clam baits. Water is warming up in the back bay just in time for the flounder season to get started.

Alex at Scott’s Dock tells us the weather just didn’t cooperate this week so reports coming in were on the light side. Tog anglers fishing the jetties of Longport were out there despite the wind, cold and rain and were rewarded with plenty of tog, including several keepers to 16 inches on green crabs. The back bays saw some striper action on bloodworms while reports of drum fish on clams from Lakes Bay trickled in.
