Ray Scott’s Dock

There are lots of flounder just yards from the dock according to reports out of Scott’s Dock. Private boaters, the rental fleet and the party boat Capt. Robin are not burning much gas at all before dropping lines and finding fish. The overwhelming majority of the fish are shorts, but it has been consistent action all week regardless of the tides or wind. Naked minnows are still the best bait for high numbers of fish while keepers are more likely to be caught on something more substantial like a bucktail tipped with a Gulp or strip of herring, squid or mackerel.

Scott’s Dock reports that the water is warming up and the flounder are starting to bite better. Customers managed a few trips this week and found lots of fish and a few keepers in the mix. Live minnows were the best bait and many anglers told us they were fishing naked (the minnows that is). Sometimes simple is best, but it has been a hunt and peck game in order to find keeper size fish.
