Captain TJ Karbowksi at Rock and Roll Charters said on the days they’ve been able to get out, the fall blackfish bite has been strong. Most other species seem to have cleared the area, at least in what could be found easily and with limited weather windows they’ve been focusing their attention on tautog. Fishing has been good most trips and this week they saw a few in that cracked the double digit mark. They plan to fish through November 16th and have a few dates left for fall tog fishing so if you’re looking to get out and get in on the action give him a call now to book your spot.

Captain TJ Karbowksi at Rock and Roll Charters said on the days he’s been able to get out, the best local bites have been for blackfish. The stripers that were so abundant in the area the last few weeks have become a bit harder to find as the bunker that was in the region seems to have moved on. With the lack of consistent bait on local structure, the stripers are on the move and in an area one day and gone the next. Surprisingly, they are still catching some scup, though not with the consistency they were earlier in the season. There are still lots of sea bass around and the majority of them fall short of the keeper mark, though they are catching enough keepers each trip for his crews to bring some home. Blackfish are the star of the show right now and they are catching boat limits of tog every trip. As water temperatures continue to cool, the blackfish action will get better, more consistent and predictable. They plan to fish through November 16th and have a few dates left for fall tog fishing so if you’re looking to get out and get in on the action give him a call now to book your spot.
