Roger Aziz, Jr., in Methuen let readers know that the Merrimack River is producing largemouth bass and northern pike. The largies have been peaking at 4 pounds, but the pike have been on the small side. Rog also reported on Lake Attitash which he fished one day last week. He had high praise for the ramp which has been fixed “beautifully” but had nothing good to say about the fishing. Four hours of dock work failed to yield a single bite. Another gentleman who was probing deep structure also blanked. Calling his session a “big mistake” and referring to Attitash as “a giant speedboat mecca,” Rog advised fishermen to look elsewhere for action.

Roger Aziz, Jr., in Methuen provided readers with Merrimack River fishing information. He fished from shore behind the island in Haverhill and made a nice score of yellow perch to 12.5 inches. Other fishermen beached carp in one of Rog’s heavily baited swims. The river above the dam in Lawrence is loaded with northern pike hitting spinnerbaits and live bait, and the stretch in Hooksett, New Hampshire, is yielding largemouths and smallmouths. Bow Lake, in Strafford, New Hampshire, is also kicking out smallies and largies.
