The most recent trips aboard the charter boat Skylarker saw anglers catch a mix of sea bass, tog and porgies in between the weather. The Tim O’Grady charter caught mostly sea bass and porgies, while the Society of Gas Operators aboard had a good pick of sea bass, porgies and tog. Capt. Steve Spinelli said his most recent trip was the members of the Renaissance Fishing Club who saw a very good bite of sea bass with several anglers getting their limits along with big porgies. Laura Smock took the pool with a 4-pound knucklehead. Steve said the boat will continue to bottom fish until the stripers show up in good numbers.

It was a fair to good week of bottom fishing cited Capt. Steve Spinelli of the charter boat Skylarker. Steve said he started off the week by putting members of the Kodiak Fishing Club into a good catch of sea bass, tog, bonito, winter flounder, triggers, porgies and blues. The Wayne Manccini party was up next with a good bite of sea bass and porgies. The Mike Wheelan group had a fair catch of sea bass and porgies on a mid-week trip. Thursday’s trip with the Pat DiPortier party decked a mix of sea bass, triggerfish and bonito. The crew finished up the week with the Ron’s Landscaping charter who scored a decent bite of sea bass and bonito.
