Surf City Bait and Tackle

The beaches only yielded a sparse volume of small striped bass and some dogfish. By Tuesday, however, unanimous reports confirmed that numerous striped bass were being landed from the sand on both natural bait and ava jigs, a clear escalation in the action, though still not a dependable catch rate. Saturday generated highly positive blackfish reports. The beach fishing was comparatively subdued, yet a few successful anglers connected with striped bass using Tsunami Sand Eels, ava jigs, SP Minnows, and cut bunker chunks.
